Our History
Founded in 1990 by Richard Plante to meet a growing need for high-quality nets for scientific research, Filmar was quickly recognized for the quality of its products.
Pierre Béland, considered the father of beluga research, acquired Filmar in 2004 and added his expertise to that of the existing team.
The company continued developing expertise in custom-made nets to meet the specific needs of its customers.
In 2019, Mr. Béland passed the reins to Francis Brisebois, a young entrepreneur who acquired it and who is now modernizing the manufacturing, management and communication processes to propel the company to the next level.
