The main objective of the Beam Trawl is to sample a bottom during a drifting tow.

The beam trawl is shaped like a bag that is derived from the dredge and is designed to be dragged along the bottom.
It is attached to a rigid
frame
heavily weighted in

This frame defines the horizontal and vertical opening. Chains in front of the net lift the prey.
Used for plaice, sole, shrimp.
Can be easily used with a very small boat.
